Kad is our first international Team Member :)
Hi Kad, please tell us a little bit about you.
Well, I currently work as a feeder operator for a print shop. The job is ok and it pays decent but my true goal was to continue my education and create video games. Of course if you spend so much time playing video games that you dont go to school it is kind of hard to go to college :) Currently I am working very hard to pursue my goals but I stillmake time fore CreepSmash.
Where, how and since when did you notice creepsmash?
I noticed CS while running a search for tower defense games. I stumbled upon creepsmash.de and despite the fact that I didn’t really know what I was doing because the site was in German I gave it a shot. I have been playing for about a year but I can’t really recall when I started playing.
What do you like about Creepsmash?
I like the fact that since I started playing later than many people there are still challenges out there waiting for me to overcome them.
What is your function in the Creepsmash team?
Currently my grasp of the German language is minimal at best. My main language is English. As I became familiar with CS I noticed that there was not a lot of information for English speaking people. At which point Sulfi and I formed a partnership. He does a rough translation to English and I complete the translation. A lot of information is lost between the translation normally but by doing it this way we can save as much of that information as possible. It’s also a big time saver because google sucks at translating anything and then Sulfi and I spend a lot of time sending emails back and forth to finish the project.
How much time did you spend on Creepsmash?
I have spent quite a bit of time playing CS. I took a short break but now I’m back :)
The development of creepsmash carries right on, which features would you like to see in the following versions?
I would love to see a lot of new features. The ability to play with some AI would be great when no ones around. I would love to see some sort of team game mode. I could definitely see some new creeps coming around too. Like a splitting creep could be cool.
What features do you miss the most in Creepsmash?
I really miss the lack of clan support. It’s not that the game needs it but it really makes things more interesting.
Where do you see creepsmash if you look six months in the future?
I see CS making a larger impression across the world and I see more content for the website and wiki.
What is your motivation to improve creepsmash?
CS is a great game created by students who deserve some credit. I would do more if I could but my skills at this point in time are quite limited.
How often do you play creepsmash currently?
I would say 3 to 10 games a day except on work days then its maybe 1 to 3 games.
Do you have fun when your playing?
That’s a silly question… Of course I do :)
Do you have a favorite map?
Right now I can’t say that I do although Dark Vector draws me in and I still like Emerald Isles. I prefer the longer maps.
Do you have a favorite game mod?
Lately I have been enjoying the random send game mode. There have been a lot of new players around and this gives them a chance to learn without being overrun so quickly.
Did you fight in the CreepSmash-League?
No. I was informed that it currently would not support the English language and therefore declined to enter. I would hate to slow everything down just ecause of me.
How did you find the “system-bot” in the chat?
The system bot…. bleh…. I can’t understand the keks command and system is supposed to prevent cheating. I have seen a few strange things since the introduction of that bot and I think it still has a few kinks that need to be worked out. The bot has even kicked me out of games for random reasons which I have yet to figure out. It also seems to have problems working when there are more than 110 players online.
Thank you for your time! Is there anything you would like to say in closing?
In closing, Thank you for interviewing me. CS is a great game which I really enjoy playing and I truly enjoy the people I play with. I will be with the CS community for a long time to come. Thanks to all the players who support CS.
